Prior to gaining national recognition with the creation of Black Founders Matter, Marceau founded Werkhorse, a startup that won competitions held by Techstars and PitchFest NW. He later took his experience as a founder and worked at Rogue Venture Partners. His understanding of the Black founders' experience has established trust among them and has shaped BFM’s vision for what’s possible.

Himalaya Rao

Himalaya received her MBA from Willamette University and has worked within seven Venture Capital funds in the areas of fund management, deal sourcing, and due diligence. She helped launch two other funds; Angel Oregon Food Fund and Mid-Valley Angel Fund. Even among highly established and networked funds, Himalaya has been the primary source of investable POC-specific deal flow.
